Trois-Rivières

 

a city in Canada, in southeastern Quebec. Population, 55,200 (1971). Trois-Rivières is a port on the St. Lawrence River, with a freight turnover of 4 million tons per year. It is a center of the Canadian pulp and paper industry. Local industries produce chemicals and electrotechnical items, including electric lamps and electron tubes. The city also has a metalworking industry.
