Tsimliansk

 

a city (since 1961) and the administrative center of Tsimliansk Raion, Rostov Oblast, RSFSR. Railroad station (Tsimlianskaia) on the Morozovsk-Kuberle line. Tsimliansk is situated on the Tsimliansk Reservoir. It has a rug factory, a plant for the production of sparkling wines, a brewery, and a fish combine. The city also produces concrete, bricks, and hydraulic dredges. There is a sovkhoz vineyard. Tsimliansk is also the site of experiments for the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute for Viticulture and Wine-making. The Tsimliansk Hydroelectric Power Plant is nearby.
