When asked about the choice of the Ulyanovsk site for the Hempel factory, Jesper Bodtkjer, vice president Europe, Hempel A/S, stated:
10 October 2011 - Fitch confirmed on Friday the long-term foreign and local currency rating of BB- of Russia's Ulyanovsk region.
With the signing of the investment agreement, the Hempel Group and the Ulyanovsk authorities have sealed their commitment to the EUR 23 million turnkey project to be built close to the city of Ulyanovsk, 893 kilometres east of Moscow.
