The global automotive vehicle-to-everything (
V2X) market is expected to reach USD 26.72 billion by 2025 according to a new report by Grand View Research, Inc.
Both firms have collaborated to create a complete TCU (Telematics Control Unit) software reference design that would include Sasken's TCU software and middleware coupled with Cohda Wireless' DSRC/C-V2X (cellular
V2X) stack and applications.
"By building various telecommunication networks including 5G, 4G and
V2X in one place, K-City will provide real-world experiences of autonomous driving for people and businesses across the industry," said Byung Yoon Kwon, Director of KOTSA.
The White Paper follows the creation of a
V2X task force in June 2016 to study and evaluate
V2X technologies and requirements, while looking to harmonise Mobile Network Operators' views on LTE-based
V2X and DSRC/IEEE-802.11p.
In manned vehicles,
V2X systems convey important information to the driver in the form of alerts and notifications and can also actuate the vehicle in dangerous situations.
Along with Nissan, we plan to show that close cooperation between automotive suppliers, OEMs, mobile operators, infrastructure and chipset suppliers is of high importance to further advance and develop Cellular
V2X," says Lars Schultheiss, vice president and head of business unit Infotainment & Connectivity at Continental in Japan.
V2X refers to a combination of vehicle-to-infrastructure, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian.
Arada Systems has developed
V2X software and hardware solutions utilizing its expertise in 5.9 GHz dedicated short range communications and other wireless communications protocols, notably GPS.
This will be DENSO's second field test in China with Tongji University regarding vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure (
V2X) technology, following the test conducted in March 2012.
