Two-factor ANOVA was used to assess the main effects of water temperature (22 or 25[degrees]C) and vitamin [K.sub.1] level (0.0,0.5,1.0, or 5.0 mg [kg.sup.-1]), or vitamin [K.sub.1] and Vitamin [K.sub.3] (
vitamer type) at the 0.5 mg [kg.sup.-1] inclusion level, on treatment responses.
While chemically very similar, both
vitamers have entirely different biological origins; whereas [D.sub.3] is photosynthesized in mammals in their skin (1), [D.sub.2] mainly occurs in mushrooms (1).
Stored plasma samples collected after diagnosis were analyzed for total folate (the sum of all folate
vitamers), and the
vitamers folic acid, tetrahydrofolic acid (THF), 5-methyl tetrahydrofolic acid, and 5-formylTHF/MeFox.
The role of
vitamers and, especially, [alpha]-tocopherol ([alpha]T) as an antioxidant, is based on the high stability of the [alpha]-tocopheroxyl radical, which can bind another radical, resulting in a non-radical product.

Vitamer. We're exploring the idea of selling food-grown PL vitamin, as well.
A
vitamer, a compound of a specific vitamin, is a substance that has vitamin activity or functionality.
A readily bioavailable folate
vitamer, Metafolin is easily absorbed by the human body to ensure adequate uptake of the vital vitamin.
Vitamin B6 occurs as three
vitamer forms based on the pyridine ring: pyridoxine is the most stable and found especially in plants, while pyridoxal and pyridoxamine are found mainly in animals; each
vitamer can occur as a phosphorylated form.
Newly elected or re-elected to the 22-member board are suppliers Jane Drinkwalter,
Vitamer Laboratories; Harvey Kamil, NBTY; John Haydock, Burt's Bees; Carilyn Anderson, Carlson Labs; and Peter Zambetti, Capsugel.
This folate
vitamer's reference range is quite broad, presumably because of variations between individuals in the prominence of the so-called methyl trap phenomenon, in which lowered activity of methionine synthase causes 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate to leak out of cells into the blood plasma.
