Kármán constant

[′kär‚män ‚kän·stənt]
(fluid mechanics)
A dimensionless number formed from the velocity of turbulent flow parallel to a plane wall, the distance from the wall, the shear stress, and the density of the fluid; for a wide range of flow patterns it has a constant value.
