a village on the Dnestr River in Rybnitsa Raion, Moldavian SSR, near which the remains of a paleolithic campsite from the late Acheulian stage were dis-covered in a grotto in 1946. Flint tools, mammoth bones, and the bones of a cave bear were found. A late Tripoli moundless burial ground was excavated a short distance away from the campsite. The burials yielded articles made of flint, bone, copper, earthenware (including painted pottery), and female figurines made of clay and bone. Many burials are noted for their cromlechs.
