WASD keys are transparent on the Scar 2, giving it a dedicated fps-gamer feel.
The Strix CTRL's sturdy chassis has a classy yet distinctly gamer-oriented brushed metal finish across the right side, and the all-black look is punctuated by four silver caps for the
WASD keys. Those caps come bundled with the ROG Strix CTRL.
The keyboard features red backlighting, and the
WASD keys and touchpad are also outlined in red to raise the gaming excitement and ease of use.

WASD keys is a nice touch but is purely aesthetic.
In addition, there's a wider space bar, offset arrow keys, curved key caps, and highlighted
WASD keys. The keyboard is backlit as well; while the with Red Matter versions of the laptops have red lights, the Gold Steel models feature customisable RGB lighting.
Where it falters is in poor thermals, with the
WASD keys getting as hot as 46 degrees.
The
WASD keys are transparent so as to make them stand out, which is mostly just a visual touch than a functional benefit.
The entire keyboard is backlit in blue colour and the
WASD keys have a subtle blue border around them.
