In sheet-metal roofing, a seam consisting of two joined sheets of metal whose edges have been folded over each other and fastened down flat.

A strip of wood fastened over a flush seam or joint for added strength.

(engineering)

A strip that has been fastened to the edges of plates that form a butt joint in a steam boiler.
