Location:33 miles north of Dillingham; accessible by boat or plane only.
Facilities:Trails, toilets.
Activities:Primitive camping, fishing, hunting, boating, canoeing, kayaking.
Special Features:Park is the largest state park in the US. It has just a few rustic facilities -- emphasis here is on low impact camping and "pack it in, pack it out" practices. The park is named for its two separate systems of lakes and is characterized by its water-based ecosystems. All five species of Pacific salmon spawn here, and freshwater sportfish are generally prolific throughout the area. Wildlife is also abundant, from moose, caribou, and brown bear to small animals such as beaver, muskrat, otter, fox, wolverine, and mink. The entire park is open to camping, though some areas require a permit, and all but one of the lakes are open to motorized boating.
