Workplace Shell

The user interface in OS/2 introduced with Version 2.0. The Workplace Shell was extensible and application developers used Workplace Shell library functions when developing programs.

The author generalizes graphical interfaces to most platforms, including Microsoft Windows, OS/2 Presentation Manager and Workplace Shell, Apple Macintosh, Sun Open Look, NEXT Nextstep, and the popular X/windows (used, for example, by Digital Equipment Corporation and Hewlett-Packard).
