adiabatic expansion and ascending movement mainly brings about temperature decreases in SAH after OVTP removal, but the thermodynamic process related to radiative heating offsets part of the cooling response.
The mixing is also evident from a comparison of the measured temperature with the adiabatic temperature of -33[degrees]C upon reaching 500 hPa; the discrepancy of over 40 K shows that the range of cooling that we can achieve through
adiabatic expansion is limited by mixing processes.
During the cell-growth stage, the foam goes through dramatic quenching because of
adiabatic expansion and brisk heat absorption during vaporization of the blowing agent.
In a vapor cycle system, the temperature is increased by adiabatic compression and decreases during
adiabatic expansion. In a magnetic refrigeration cycle, magnetization corresponds to adiabatic compression and demagnetization corresponds to
adiabatic expansion.
