Purple flowers, mint family. Hyssop has a camphor-like strong aroma from it’s volatile oils that help soothe irritated digestive and respiratory tracts. Both flowers and leaves have a delicate anise or licorice flavor. Flavor similar to root beer. Flowers make nice edible garnishes. Excellent in salads.
