By incorporating small aiming circles into the reticle, the BDC system allows precise, unobtrusive
aiming points. Each circle allows three separate
aiming points: top, bottom or middle of the circle.
The outer wires are visible in low light and fast, and yet the inner wire offers a very precise
aiming point. This reticle is extremely versatile.
Now fire three shots at the target from a bench rest using the second
aiming point. If the group is too high, move the target farther away; if it's low, move the target closer until the group is centered on the
aiming point.
Now load the rifle with the ammunition you intend to use on the hunt, hold solidly on the
aiming point and carefully squeeze off a shot.
Aiming point: If you elect to take this shot, don't aim too far forward.
The dual-illumination system automatically adjusts
aiming point brightness to existing lighting conditions.
The instruction manual may say a certain
aiming point should work at 400 yards, but in truth a bullet may strike that
aiming point at 425 yards--or 375 yards--with your rifle and load
It is critical to control the recoil of the handgun so that it recoils back to the
aiming point. A secret to doing this well when shooting strong-hand is to make sure your elbow is pointing at 6 o'clock.

Western bowhunters confront this challenge more often than treestand whitetail hunters, but if you hunt food plots or open ground often, you need to know how far your arrow drifts and then consider that when choosing your
aiming point.
