(engineering)
To apply a film of aluminum to a material, such as glass.
(metallurgy)
To form a protective surface alloy on a metal by treatment at elevated temperature with aluminum or an aluminum compound.

aluminize, Brit. aluminise

To apply a surface coating of aluminum to another metal or other base material, usually by spraying or dipping in molten aluminum. On steel, such coatings greatly increase corrosion resistance.
