[ə′lüm·ə·nəm ′bras] (metallurgy)
A casting brass to which aluminum has been added as a flux to improve the casting qualities and, with the addition of lead, the machining qualities.
A wrought brass to which aluminum has been added to improve the extruding and forging qualities and the oxidation resistance.
