The weight per unit volume of a metal powder, in contrast to the weight per unit volume of the individual particles.

apparent density

1. The mass per unit volume of in-place thermal insulation.
2. The mass per unit volume (or the weight per unit volume) of a material, including the voids which are inherent in the material.
