Rocket models and pictures were created during the week and a visit from the "Astrosphere" a massive dome erected in the school hall, taught children about constellations, planets and the stars.
A total of 160 Year 7 pupils were given a presentation in the Astrosphere - a portable dome which allows projections of the solar system to be made inside.
So, in their research, the team, led by David Smith, has calculated the squeezing of various stars protective astrospheres. The astronomers found Earth is exposed to between one and 10 interstellar assaults every billion years.
