atomic scattering factor
[ə′täm·ik ′skad·ər·iŋ ‚fak·tər] (physics)
A quantity which expresses the efficiency with which x-rays of a stated wavelength are scattered into a given direction by a particular atom, measured in terms of the corresponding scattering by a point electron. Also known as atomic form factor.
