autoplay video

autoplay video

A video advertisement on a Web page that starts playing as soon as the page is retrieved or within a few seconds thereafter. A large percentage of top websites have autoplay videos, but they can be disabled in the browser. Proponents argue that video ads support the content on the site, and if the content is valuable to users, they should be willing to watch, or at least not be annoyed when the ads play automatically. See pre-roll.
