Rockmore revolutionized the drilling industry with the launch of its first T-Series DTH model, the ROK 600T, a 6-in.class model that uses a tubeless QL6/QL60
bit shank. Last year the company released its ROK 60T-360T hammers that utilize the IR 360
bit shank without the blow tube/foot valve.
Looks to me like it would be easy to fabricate a new pin from a drill
bit shank. The process of removing it might give a clue if other issues exist.
A retaining pin can be made from a dowel pin, drill
bit shank or possibly even a roll pin.
The Patriot 50 accepts the QL50
bit shank while the Patriot 80 accepts the 380
bit shank.
The T series is "tubeless," as the name suggests (utilizing bits without plastic Blow Tubes), and achieves the goal of using industry
bit shank connections, but without the plastic component imbedded in the bit.
The diameter of the main firing pin body is 0.227 inches, so I elected to use a section of 15/64 (0.234) inch drill
bit shank for the part.
A 2-inch piece of drill
bit shank, music wire or a hardened screw shank can be used.
