Specialized membrane products are currently in use on seven continents throughout the world for such diverse applications as potable water,
boiler feedwater, industrial process water, wastewater treatment, surface water treatment, seawater desalination, electronic rinse water, agricultural irrigation and pharmaceuticals.
To eliminate this possibility, some operators may discard hot condensate rather than recycle it as
boiler feedwater. With condensate containing around 25 percent of the useful energy in the original steam, recovering it can substantially reduce water, energy, effluent and chemical treatment costs.
During a preliminary inspection of the boilers and auxiliary systems, I noticed that both of the 100 hp
boiler feedwater pumps were running.
This was preferable because the temperature differential between the cold water supply and flue gas was greater than if the
boiler feedwater had been circulated through the heat exchanger.
TIP 0416-04 Design engineer decisions tree: paper mill
boiler feedwater[USPRwire, Mon Dec 17 2018] Deaerators are widely used in nuclear power plants in power generation cycles and to remove all the gases, including oxygen, from the
boiler feedwater. Owing to a drastic upsurge in nuclear power generation in China, the global nuclear industry is gaining traction.
SPIRAX SARCO says its pressurised deaerator system reduces the dissolved oxygen content of
boiler feedwater to virtually nil without chemical treatment.
By capturing the waste heat inherent in flue gases and transferring it to the
boiler feedwater, the feedwater temperature increases from approximately 85[degrees] to 120[degrees].
The oversight involves the
boiler feedwater preheater.
