Building code

A collection of regulations by local authorities having the jurisdiction to control the design and construction of buildings, alterations, repairs, quality of materials, use and occupancy; it contains minimum architectural, structural, and mechanical standards for sanitation, public health, safety, and welfare, and the provision of light and air.
