cascade liquefaction
[ka′skād lik·wə′fak·shən] (cryogenics)
A method of liquefying gases in which a gas with a high critical temperature is liquefied by increasing its pressure; evaporation of this liquid cools a second liquid so that it can also be liquefied by compression, and so on.
