chiral nanotube

[‚kī·rəl ′nan·ō‚tüb]
(physical chemistry)
A carbon nanotube formed from a graphite sheet that is rolled up so that the succession of hexagons of carbon atoms on a particular cylinder makes an angle with the axis of the nanotube.

Thus the vectors (0,n) and (m,0) denote zig-zag nanotubes, the vectors (m,m) or (n,n) denote armchair nanotubes and all other vectors correspond to chiral nanotubes.
