(meteorology)
A heavy bank of clouds that appears on the horizon with the approach of an intense tropical cyclone (hurricane or typhoon); it is the outer edge of the central cloud mass of the storm.
Any long, narrow, unbroken line of cloud, such as a crest cloud or an element of billow cloud.
