where [C.sub.c] is the
coefficient of compressibility of soil which can be got from oedometer test, and, according to the test results, the relationship between coefficient of secondary consolidation and
coefficient of compressibility of the soil studied in this paper can be written as [C.sub.a] = 0.03 [C.sub.c].
It was found that compressibility characteristics, i.e., compression index 'Cc', coefficient of compressibility 'av', coefficient of volume compressibility 'mv', decrease 12% to 30% as the %age of sand increases from 5% to 25%.
Figure 4 shows the curves of coefficient of compressibility (av) with pressure for both un-disturbed and disturbed samples.
