comm port

May refer to any serial communications port or specifically to the serial ports on a PC. See COM1.

For more advanced use, the device has five-point temperature compensation and seven-point transducer linearisation algorithms, all available via the comm port. The strain gauge, load cell, pressure transducer and torque sensor may be programmed to produce an output in engineering units; real mV/V calibration may be applied.
This necessitates a second available comm port, which neither my laptop nor desktop computer had.
It also includes a VCOMM port driver for Windows 95 and a WinISDN driver for Windows 3.1x to remove comm port bottlenecks.
