Magnetic tape technologies that used small cartridges. Except for LTO, they are all mostly obsolete today. See magnetic tape, QIC, DAT, 8mm tape, AIT, DLT and LTO.

Some big industry names have declared tape technology "dead," but compact tape manufacturers are crying all the way to the bank.
BOB: In 1984, DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) was anticipating that IBM was going to release a half-inch cartridge product, wanted to pre-empt IBM, and announced Compact Tape. This was a nifty little 5.25-inch [cartridge] but a little oversized.
Meanwhile, the Office has distributed more than 6 million booklets in different languages, 800,000 books in Arabic, 500,000 books in different languages, more than 60,000 multilingual tapes, and 200 compact tapes in several languages to explain the beauties of Islam and its teachings.
