As expected from the adsorption data, the low-carboxylate dispersant yielded a large region of good dispersion, finally reaching depletion flocculation when there was enough excess dispersant in the
continuous phase to disrupt the associative network.
The total volume of emulsion, V is comprised of the dispersed phase volume, [V.sub.d] and the
continuous phase volume, [V.sub.c].
For a certain geometric configuration of the helical tube, the Re of the
continuous phase had a significant influence on the flow pattern and the intensity of the secondary flow in the helical tube.
This could be related to the increasing amount of dispersant building up in the
continuous phase, thus serving as another "sink" for the hydrophobes of the associative polymer.
The pump is turned on and its flow rate is set at such a level as to fill the column with the
continuous phase (water) up to the level of the interfacial sensor.
The relative gas permeability of the blends was similar to that of TPU because TPU provided the
continuous phase. The relative gas permeability ([P.sub.r]) of the blends approached that of EVOH when the content of EVOH was greater than 50 wt%.
Key statement: The invention relates to a process for making an article subject to dynamic loading, the process comprises: (i) shaping a polymer-containing composition in the green state, the composition comprising (a) a
continuous phase of a polymeric component of at least 15 wt.
The prediction of the flow of the
continuous phase was obtained by solving the time averaged Navier-Stokes equations in connection with suitable closure models for turbulence (RNG and Realizable k-[epsilon]).
Two inversion routes (w/o to o/w and o/w to w/o) are followed in experiments where either the mixture velocity is kept constant and the dispersed phase fraction is increased (type I experiments), or the
continuous phase low rate is kept constant and that of the dispersed phase is increased (type II experiments).
The unit can also transition directly from any attenuation and phase, such as from minimum attenuation at 0 degree to minimum attenuation at 180 degrees, without a
continuous phase transition from 0 degree to 90 degrees to 180 degrees.
Initially, it was described as having the fluoroelastomer as the
continuous phase. However, processability requirements dictated changing this to the current composition, in which nylon makes up the continuous matrix, and the fluoroelastomer serves as the dispersed phase.
The uncompatibilized CA/ 20PHB shows that PHB domains are spherical and with large size distribution in the CA
continuous phase. The weak interaction between the phases can be seen by the removal of the PHB phase that generated cavities on
continuous phase during cryogenic fracture.
