It will allow the SCVO to support rural communities outside
crofting counties in preparing investment plans and bid for cash from schemes like the Big Lottery fund.
A remote
crofting community in the north west of Scotland became the hottest place in the country on the warmest October 27 since records began.
There are also miles of beaches and mountains and the traditional occupations are
crofting, fishing and weaving.
High up in the hills of Coquetdale, past Rothbury, the inn has been serving the
crofting community centred around the village of just two dozen houses since 1788, according to the deeds.
In August 1999, the Scottish Executive accepted the LRPG's recommendations and published a `Land Reform Action Plan' setting out the framework for an integrated programme of action and legislation -- including proposals for law and land reform, and legislation on countryside and natural heritage issues, on agricultural holdings, and on
crofting matters.
