Web pages and Web-based applications that render properly in all Web browsers. Cross-browser functionality is the goal of website and browser developers. Although standards from the W3C have helped programmers create cross-browser software, every browser on the market does not render every Web page identically. This is how three major browsers rendered this encyclopedia's website years ago when a new design was first tested. It took several tweaks to the code to make the menu buttons align properly on all three.
