The crystal twin displays included the obligatory Japan Law quartzes, penetration twinned fluorites from various localities, the gorgeous new "V" twinned Chinese calcites, chrysoberyls etc.
On the other hand in some of the investigated samples the X-ray measurements allowed to distinguish two superimposed diffraction patterns characteristic for crystal twins. This indicates that the orientation of the crystal varied along a given sample which cannot only be attributed to a misalignment of the seed crystal.
