database security
The protection of data. Database security encompasses every type of network and computer systems security because it is the data that are sought after in most attacks. The database management system (DBMS) has access to all the data stored in a database, and securing the DBMS software is a major part of these measures.
Database security is essential to protect a company's sensitive data. In addition, organizations must be compliant with government regulations regarding data privacy or else incur fines if the data are breached.
