As in the P1 element, the
denticulation became stronger and the lower part of the element suffered a similar evolution, with the basal cavity not modified, but the grooves changed to keels.
Denticulation pattern of paired tarsal claws on right leg (prolateral/ retrolateral row): I 8/5, II 6/6, III 5/5, IV 3/7.
The Sa, Sb, and Sd elements have irregularly alternating
denticulation on their posterior processes and a basal funnel is usually preserved.
Denticulation pattern of paired tarsal claws on right leg (prolateral / retrolateral row): I 6/6, II 6/5, III 2/2, I 2/2.
They are present as follows: not sclerotized, lighter in color than carapace, dark yellow, most tergal setae short with terminal denticulations, tergite XI with 2 long and simple setae, tergites incompletely divided with narrow median line; tergite XI not divided, and tergal chaetotaxy is shown in Table 3.
It present as follows: light brown; lighter in color than deutonymph, darker than abdomen; lateral margins darker and granulate with small granules; longer than wide; with 2 distinct eyes situated very close to anterior margin, completely swell; setae short with terminal denticulations; anterior margin narrower than posterior margin; 2 transverse furrows present; anterior furrow situated medially, narrow, and extending to lateral margins; and posterior furrow shorter, wider, and slightly V-shaped medially.
Additionaly or alternatively, in species that have long
denticulations overlapping the posterior borders of each spinule row, greater frictional resistance of scales from the posterior to the anterior direction is to be expected (Gower, 2003).
The second stage preform resembles the finished point, except that the margins do not have serrations or
denticulations and the tip is not accentuated.
Notosetae are present from setiger 4 to 31; notosetae are either long and denticulate with a bilimbate proximal region, or shorter with
denticulations but lacking limbations.
