Rubber elements mounted on the flat underside and ahead of the front wheel, together with an additional
diffuser vane at the rear, help to modify airflow under the car, thereby reducing drag and increasing stability.
The inception of characteristic instability can be analyzed as follows [15,22]: at partial flow rate, low energy fluids are accumulated in the corner between the hub surface and the convex surface of the
diffuser vane. As the flow rate further decreases, the region of low energy fluids at the corner axis asymmetrically expands along the hub and becomes unstable because of the adverse pressure gradient.
This conversion procedure was also performed for temperature measurements at the impeller exit,
diffuser vane exit and return channel bend.
The VGT's
diffuser vane and the turbine nozzle blade angles can be varied in real time so as to optimize overall compressor efficiency at any operating point.
The compressor efficiency gain was achieved by advancing the design of the compressor impeller, volute, variable
diffuser vanes, inlet guide vanes and controls.
Improvements in performance characteristics of single-stage and multistage centrifugal compressors by simultaneous adjustments of inlet guide vanes and
diffuser vanes, Trans.
The effective cross-sectional area was the fraction of the outlet's cross-sectional area not blocked by
diffuser vanes, and was taken, since values for the actual diffusers were not available, from manufacturer's data for similar diffuser grills, to be 0.78 of the total cross-sectional area.
This device has the advantage of a sensor probe that can get into the access areas of a ventilation system and between
diffuser vanes to measure humidity.
For this design, however, easy-to-manufacture trumpet-shaped diffuser channels were made possible by so-called symmetrical half-moon-shaped
diffuser vanes. Many small engines use similar designs.
Only in rare cases are adjustable
diffuser vanes used.
