A recorder that produces permanent hard copy in the form of a graph from digital input data.

It was purchased in July of 2001 by current majority shareholder and President Stephanie Clymer, who renamed it Alaska Digital Printing due to the approaching "digital age" and following the purchase of their first KIP 5000 Laser Digital Plotter in 2003 to indicate their way of changing with the industry, Clymer says.
Direct plotting is standard; screen displays can be sent to a printer or digital plotter.
The extension of the language to include instructions for output on digital plotters has led to its very extensive use in Computer Aided Design, some of the most important programmes in this field having been written by draughtsmen.
