Most have an early-type spiral system, called a lenticular galaxy, as the central showpiece.
Abstract: Lenicular (S0) galaxies form a morphological transition class between ellipticals and early-type spirals in the Hubble (1936) classification system.
Low-surface-brightness galaxies dramatize this point as they are usually low-B/D systems (a late-type characteristic) that nevertheless have very low present-day star-formation rates (like early-type spirals).
