The pterygoid expands laterally to contact the
ectopterygoid. It borders laterally and posteriorly the posterior interpterygoid vacuity, forming a lateral flange.
Referral of the specimens to Clevosaurus is based on the presence of a lateral contact between the
ectopterygoid and palatine, which excludes the maxilla from the margin of the suborbital fenestra, and the presence of a long, posteriorly extending dorsal process of the jugal (Sues et al.
In addition to the teeth in the premaxillae, maxillae and mandibles, dentigerous areas are seen in the
ectopterygoid and accessory
ectopterygoid bones (Figure ID and IE) and in the pharynx (Figure IF).
fittkaui depicts a large endopterygoid, which reaches the posterior border of the dermopalatine, and a small
ectopterygoid that does not reach this point.

ectopterygoid articulating with quadrate along its anterodorsal edge; metapterygoid very thin, "needle-like", not articulating with quadrate or its small cartilaginous posterior edge; no symplectic process on preopercle; ascending process of premaxilla extending dorsally to anterodorsal edge of rostral cartilage; maxilla narrow, lacking process along shaft, with ventral tip curved anteriorly; dentary reduced, lacking large pocket typically receiving anguloarticular; anguloarticular articulating with dentary along ventral groove in dentary and in small anterior pocket near symphysis of dentary.

Villiform teeth in band on premaxilla and dentary; 2-3 (1-2) rows on vomer; 2-3 rows on palatine; none on
