This material was identified through available taxonomic keys, comparison and other exsiccate as well as specialist help.
The plant was identified in the herbarium of the Universidade Estadual de Maringa where a voucher specimen was deposited according to exsiccate HUEM 16285.
fruticosa were collected from parent plants in the vegetative stage and kept in the Collection of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants of the Agroforestry Unit of UEFS; their exsiccate was then herborized and stored in the herbarium of the same institution (Voucher HUEFS 178230).
