Revealing Character: Texas Tintypes by Robb Kendrick is a compilation of black-and-white photography of modern--day Texas American cowboys taken via the historical
ferrotype or "tintype" method used in the 19th century.
These methods have been applied to the determination of the thickness of an adsorbed water layer on chromium ferrotype plates and on gold surfaces.
Acceptable slides prepared by shearing small rectangles from a large ferrotype plate varied about 0.2[degrees] for similar lengths and these make convenient and readily available surfaces for study.
The chrome ferrotype plate slides used in these investigations were washed in warm distilled organic solvents to remove organic contamination.
Chrome ferrotype plates have been found to be a convenient substrate for study of thin films.
