flight management system procedure (FMS procedure)

An arrival, departure, or approach procedure developed for use by aircraft with a slant (/) E or slant (/) F equipment fix. When filing an IFR (instrument flight rules) flight plan for flight in an aircraft equipped with a radar beacon transponder, DME (distance-measuring equipment), TACAN-only (tactical navigation only) equipment, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), or a combination of any of these types of equipment, identify the equipment capability by adding a suffix, preceded by a slant, to the aircraft type. Slant E and F suffixes are aircraft equipment suffixes used for FMS with en route, terminal, and approach capabilities.
