This precedes the development of mucosal lesions and neutrophil infiltration, thus suggesting that there is no relationship between abnormal
gastric motility and mucosal injury (51).

Furthermore, stress hormones and active ghrelin play key roles in mediating
gastric motility [26, 92].
However, treatment with long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist liraglutide was found to have minor or no effects on
gastric motility in the recent study on subjects with diabetic neuropathy [84].
In addition, somatostatin decreases saliva and bile secretion, inhibits
gastric motility, reduces visceral blood flow, and increases and regenerates gastrointestinal cells [27].
Diabetic gastroparesis (DGP) is a common chronic complication of diabetes characterized by decreased
gastric motility, delayed gastric emptying, and gastric rhythm disorders, with upper abdominal pain, early satiety, nausea, vomiting, and anorexia as its main clinical manifestations.

gastric motility and triggering myenteric plexus damage because of recurrent vomiting.
Gastric bezoars are found commonly in patients with poor mastication, poor
gastric motility, and previous gastric surgery.
