The National Biosafety Management Agency is here to ensure that the practice of genetic engineering and the use of
genetically modified organisms are safe for Nigerians and the environment.
WHO (World Health Organization) has a similar definition to guide WHO Member State Governments with regard their evaluation/assessment of the nature and safety of genetically modified foods, to wit: "
Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) can be defined as organisms (i.e.
