[′glō ‚lamp] (electronics)
A two-electrode electron tube containing a small quantity of an inert gas, in which light is produced by a negative glow close to the negative electrode when voltage is applied between the electrodes.

glow discharge lamp which generates light in an ionized gas close to the electrodes; commonly used as an indicating device because of the low power consumption.
