hazardous in-flight weather advisory service (HIWAS)

A program for broadcasting hazardous weather information (severe weather forecast alerts), SIGMETs (significant meteorological information), convective SIGMETs, center weather advisories, AIRMETs (airmen's meteorological information), and urgent pilot weather reports on a continuous basis over selected very high frequency omnidirectional radio-ranges.
