However, only one lead precipitate [Pb.sub.3][(C[O.sub.3]).sub.2][(OH).sub.2] (
hydrocerussite) was found on the postsorption RSBC.

hydrocerussite by C[O.sub.2] membrane diffusion technique," Chemical Geology, vol.
The white pigment in Hurdy Gurdy, however, was composed of
hydrocerussite. This discrepancy, however, didn't rule out the possibility that Autumn Harbour was a Harris, says Bormett, since both Ti[O.sub.2], and
hydrocerussite were in common use among artists in the early 20th century.
An outcrop of the Roughton Gill South vein in the higher reaches of the gill has recently yielded some good specimens of matthed-dleite in minute needles with caledonite, lanarkite, leadhillite and
hydrocerussite. An excellent example (since sold) was in the Green-bank collection.
Lead phases detected by X-ray d iffraction include synthetic
hydrocerussite ([Pb.sub.3][([CO.sub.3]).sub.2][(OH).sub.2]), synthetic crocoite ([PbCrO.sub.4]), synthetic phoenicochroite ([Pb.sub.2][CrO.sub.4]O), synthetic anglesite ([PbSO.sub.4]), and possible synthetic plattnerite ([PbO.sub.2]).
Fine examples of cerussite, dioptase, malachite, azurite, wulfenite, smithsonite and vanadinite have been collected there, as well as some of the finest known examples of a number of rarer species such as boleite, diaboleite, caledonite,
hydrocerussite, linarite, matlockite and leadhillite.
Cerussite is an extremely rare, late-stage alteration product, occurring as white powdery coatings or tan crusts, sometimes admixed with
hydrocerussite, on galena crystals in the lower sill.
Rarities such as
hydrocerussite, diaboleite and leadhillite were fun to see, and caused many an Arizona collector's pulse to quicken.
Associated minerals are: cerussite,
hydrocerussite, paralaurionite, blixite, chloroxiphite, pyrolusite, coronadoite, hematite, parkinsonite and mereheadite.
There was also a Tsumeb array, with fine small specimens of mimetite, smithsonite and
hydrocerussite after cerussite.
Hydrocerussite and rare allactite have also been noted in this assemblage.
The mine is the type locality for the minerals chloroxiphite and diaboleite, and has also produced some of the largest known crystals of
hydrocerussite and crednerite.
