Any of several varieties of muscovite, especially illite, which are less elastic than mica, have a pearly luster, and sometimes contain less potash and more water than muscovite. Also known as hydrous mica.

The rock mass is represented mainly by quartz and admixture ultra-thin hydromica flakes (Figs.
Hydromica occurs as thin flakes with a bright interference color.
Series reflexes 9.99, 4.99 and 3.32 [Angstrom], whose values do not change either after saturation with ethylene glycol or after calcination, indicate the presence of rock hydromica. Interplanar distances that are multiples of 7.14 [Angstrom], which disappear during calcination for 2 h, allow the identification of kaolinite.
25.0[degrees], 26.7[degrees], and 29.3[degrees] indicating that the main soil mineral composition was kaolinite (7.15 [Angstrom], 3.56 [Angstrom]), hydromica (4.98 [Angstrom]), vermiculite (4.74 [Angstrom]), quartz (3.34 [Angstrom]), and calcite (3.03 [Angstrom]) [44] (Figure 4(c)).
Kaolinite increased by 300%, hydromica by 40-70%, and quartz by 83-157%.
Phase compositions of montmorillonite containing clay minerals were as follows: 1--montmorillonite 30 %, kaolinite 35 %, hydromica 35 %, quartz--traces; 2--montmorillonite 60 %, kaolinite 10 %, hydromica, quartz, feldspar--traces; 3--montmorillonite 80 %, zeolite 15 %, hydromica 5 %.
* Terragenous matter, or clay minerals, which consists of quartz, hydromica, feldspars et al.
Smectites (Sm) mostly, but not always, predominate over dioctahedral hydromica (Mi), and (Sm+Mi) strongly predominate over chlorite+kaolinite.
The dolomite content is about 5%, and the ratio of carbonates to terrigeneous part which consists of fine-grained quartz, orthoclase, mica, marcasite and some hydromica is in the range of 1.5-3.8 [1, 2].

Following minerals from Ukrainian deposits were used to find the effective sorbents: mordenite, clinoptilolite, montmorillonite, saponite, glauconite, hydromica and palygorskite.
