iMac Pro

iMac Pro

The iMac Pro was Apple's top-end, all-in-one desktop computer, which debuted in 2017 and was discontinued in 2021. Apple uses the "Pro" designation for all of its top-end models (see Mac Pro, iPad Pro and MacBook Pro).

Featuring Intel Xeon CPUs and a 27" 5K display, the iMac Pro was available with up to 18 cores, 256GB of RAM and 4TB of solid state storage. The iMac Pro also included 10 Gigabit Ethernet, whereas most all desktop computers only supported one gigabit (see 10 Gigabit Ethernet).

First 5K iMac
In 2014, Apple introduced the first iMac with a 5K 27" screen resolution (5120x2880). Commonly called the "5K iMac," a year later, 5K became the standard for 27" iMacs. See iMac and 5K monitor.
