An unavailability of video EEG,
ictal EEG, and seizure semiology confirmation is lacking in this study.
Stimulus-induced rhythmic, periodic, or
ictal discharges (SIRPIDs): a common EEG phenomenon in the critically ill.
There was no clinical or subclinical
ictal activity.
The dataset contains three different categories, i.e., preictal, healthy, and
ictal recorded using a single channel for a 23.6 s duration.
The test was performed on three EEG data classes; those are EEG signals of epilepsy patient in
ictal conditions, EEG signals in interictal conditions, and normal EEG signals from healthy subjects.
Martinez-Taboas, using the hypnotic induction protocol (see below) (18); 2) the semiology was consistent with PNES (e.g., pelvic thrusting, prolonged
ictal atony, asynchronous limb movements); 3) the patient was not responding to the usual anti-seizure medications; 4) the referring neurologist has a strong suspicion that the clinical manifestation was congruent with PNES.
** Be familiar with the diagnosis and management of anxiety/panic attacks in people with epilepsy, including the difficulties in differentiating between panic attacks and
ictal panic.
The first is "pre
ictal." You might also see the term "aura" used.
Logsdail and Toone characterized symptomatic criteria for PIP (Logsdail 1988), subsequently recognizing PIP from alternate psychoses of epilepsy, to be specific
ictal and interictal psychosis.
Changes in autonomic nervous system activity have also been evidenced in epileptic patients, half of the sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) patients experiencing cardiac rhythm or repolarization abnormalities including sinus arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation and ST-segment elevation during the
ictal or post-ictal period [11, 12].
